COMMITMENT

We will introduce our commitment through the manufacturing process.

Aging whiskey in barrels gives it a beautiful amber color. Using barrels made from American oak produces a more yellowish brown, while using European oak produces a more reddish hue. Please take a look at the amber color of our Mizunara barrels.

How roasting barrels are made

1.Scraping work

Scrape off the char (burnt by direct fire) char on the inside of the bourbon barrel. (The photo is the inside of the barrel after the shaving work is completed.)

2.Heat treatment (roasting)

By slowly steaming without raising the flame until it turns golden brown, the ingredients of the barrel wood are drawn out and the vanilla flavor is added.

Three commitments

Commitment to wood Commitment to wood Commitment to wood

Commitment to wood

We are aiming for local production for local consumption of wood, such as genuine Mizunara oak felled in Toyama Prefecture and cattails used as cushioning materials. We are very particular about the flavor and texture of our barrels, which can only be made at Sanshiro Taru Koubou in Toyama.

Sophisticated technology

Utilizing the craftsmanship of Inami, Nanto City, which is also known as the culture of wood, we carefully make each barrel by hand as much as possible. We can't make a lot of quantity, but we are trying to do a job that can be evaluated as "This is the only way to do it."

Contribution to taste

Whiskey stored in Mizunara barrels, which began as a substitute for sherry barrels during the war, has an oriental vanilla scent. Depending on the type, please try it for its rarity that rarely goes on the market and its taste that is evaluated as "Japanese whiskey" around the world.
